Who is responsible

Yifei He, Dr. phil., M.Sc., Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, School of Medicine, Philipps University Marburg, Rudolf-Bultmann-Str. 8, 35039 Marburg, Germany. E-mail: yifei.he@staff.uni-marburg.de.

This is a private academic website that I operate in a personal capacity; Philipps University Marburg is not the operator.

In short

This website sets no cookies, loads no fonts, scripts or images from other sites except the visitor statistics described below, has no contact form, comment function or login, and does not ask you for any data.

Hosting (GitHub Pages)

The website is hosted by GitHub Pages. When you open a page, your browser connects to GitHub's servers. GitHub may process technical data such as your IP address and the details of the request (date and time, page requested, referring site, browser) to deliver the page and keep the service secure; see GitHub's privacy statement. I do not receive access logs from GitHub Pages and cannot see who visited. How long GitHub keeps such data is governed by GitHub's own policy.

The provider is GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. GitHub also has a European entity, GitHub B.V. (Prins Bernhardplein 200, 1097 JB Amsterdam, The Netherlands). Data may be transferred to the USA; GitHub participates in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and also uses standard contractual clauses. See GitHub's privacy statement. Legal basis is my legitimate interest in presenting my academic work online (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Visitor statistics (GoatCounter)

I use GoatCounter (operated by Martin Tournoij, Ireland; servers in Finland and Germany) to count visits. It works without cookies: your browser loads a script from gc.zgo.at and reports the page visited, the referring site, browser and system type, screen width, the country (worked out from your IP address, which is not stored) and clicks on the CV download. Only aggregated statistics are kept, until I delete them. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in knowing how the website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Details: GoatCounter privacy policy. The website works the same if you block the script.

External links

Links to other websites (publishers, funders, Google Scholar, ORCID, ResearchGate, GitHub, Bluesky, X) leave this website. Their own privacy notices apply from the moment you open them.

Right to object

Where I process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Write to the e-mail address above. For the statistics you can also simply block the script.

Your other rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability (Art. 15–20 GDPR). I do not store personal data about visitors myself; where GitHub or GoatCounter process data, you can also address them, and you can write to me. Providing data is not required by law or contract; without the technical data the page cannot be delivered. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.

You may complain to any data protection supervisory authority, for example in your country of residence. The authority responsible for me is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Postfach 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany.
